About the Journal

Advances in Tourism Studies (ATS) is an English-language, peer-reviewed journal published by the Centre for Tourism Studies and Journal Publication, Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Mataram. Since its first issue in March 2023, ATS has consistently published scientific research articles in the field of tourism.

ATS aims to initiate and stimulate advances in tourism research by publishing papers that promote new ideas, models, approaches, and paradigms. The journal is dedicated to contributing to the development of theoretical knowledge and critical thinking in tourism studies.

ATS accepts applied research studies and review articles in the form of full-length articles and research notes. Applied research should explore relationships among variables relevant to tourism using appropriate analytical or statistical methods. High-quality review articles that discuss recent developments and advance theoretical understanding of key tourism issues are also welcome.

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process, following an initial screening by the editorial team. Evaluation criteria include the significance of contribution to the field, conceptual quality, methodological rigor, and clarity of presentation.
